I grew up in Urbandale, Iowa and by age 19 I had seen 48 of the 50 United States. I used to tour in a band called Too Pure to Die and left home for two to three months at a time traveling all over and playing shows to 200 or 2,000 kids a night (depending on the city). After I quit the band, I moved to Ames, Iowa to attend Iowa State for three semesters.  Recording my own bands and other friends’ bands had always been a hobby of mine, but when I moved to Ames it became more of a side job.  What I was doing at ISU wasn’t right for me, so I packed up again and moved to Minneapolis with four friends to attend the Institute of Production and Recording. There, my friends and I started our own recording studio, and were too busy for our own good from day one! In December of 2010, I moved back to Iowa. Soon after, I moved into a downtown loft with my lovely girlfriend of nearly four years (and our little dog Louis), and opened my own recording studio here. I have been extremely busy ever since.

Did You Know?

I used to drink a glass (or two) of orange juice every morning and every night. It turns out that I was severely allergic to oranges and it was closing up and hardening my esophagus. I then found out that I am allergic to many foods that I enjoyed daily and now don’t enjoy eating as much as I used to.
