I was born in 1961 in Osceola, Iowa during a December snowstorm. My uncle Rex had to take my father and my 17-year old mother to the hospital from Murray, Iowa on an old Ford tractor. They laid down some hay on the lowboy trailer so my mother could recline while she started to go into labor. She successfully kept me from bursting out during the 12-mile ride on rough gravel roads to the hospital. I was six weeks early and born with a full set of baby teeth! I still love the smell of hay and am early for almost every occasion. I nearly choked to death on my baby teeth, which fell out all at once on my first birthday. I still have nightmares about my teeth falling out, but doesn't everyone?
