Born and raised in Iowa, I always planned to go to college somewhere very far away and never come back. My dream as a child was to be a fourth grade math teacher in New York!! Welp, that clearly didn’t work out for me. I ended up going to Central College, just 45 minutes from where I grew up. At Central I was reminded of all the reasons why a smaller, community-centric environment is where I thrive and ultimately want to be.
Though I started at Central in education (again, math teacher in NY), I quickly realized I didn’t have a passion for it. Which led me right to communications. If talking and telling stories is considered a hobby, it’s my biggest hobby! I could talk forever and never run out of things to say. When you combine that with my super Type A sense of organization, being a project manager really seems like what I was made to do.
Outside of work I teach Barre at PowerLife. Better described as my opportunity to talk and yell for 45 minutes straight! I love a good cup of hot coffee in the morning and a cold bowl of ice cream at night. My family is the absolute best and I spend as much time with them as I can. Just another perk I’ve learned of living in your hometown!
