My husband of 30 years, Mike, tries to keep me in check, but he knows my fun-loving side is always going to win. We love the Iowa Hawkeyes, tailgating, traveling, live music, golfing, bike rides, beverages, breweries, and a great charcuterie board. We love the food, music, and all around culture that central Iowa has to offer. My first job was as a sales assistant for the Fox station in Davenport. I was only told that I needed to be able to count commercial breaks, and since I had no experience, I thought that was extremely doable. I’ve learned over the last eight years that there is so much more than counting spots. Since then, I’ve filled other NSA positions and, most recently, left a regional sales coordinator position to broaden my career and become a media buyer. Carroll, IA and was raised by a very musically inclined family. While I was a decent musician, I quickly found my competitive nature needed something else. I played as many sports as possible all throughout middle and high school and quickly found myself very passionate about them. When I headed to ISU, I guess I wasn't athletically inclined enough to make any teams, so I decided to be a social media intern for athletics instead! If I'm not watching or attending a sporting event, I enjoy spending lots of time with my boyfriend, friends, and family. I also enjoy working out, cooking, and traveling anytime I get the opportunity. One thing you should know about me - when I set my mind to something, I make sure it gets done. This led to completing my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and master’s in Human Computer Interaction (both at Iowa State - go Cyclones!). taught me how to draw. This influence has had a lifelong impact on the trajectory of my career and personal life. As an adolescent, I found myself spending my time diving into the world of Photoshop and teaching myself the ins and outs of the software. Unfortunately, this was back in the dark ages before we could all access YouTube university. There was a lot of trial and error involved in this process, but that was half the fun. This led me to design posters for local musicians, and eventually to study graphic design and printmaking at the University of Northern Iowa.
